Your struggle has been so tough and you tried so hard to survive, but surviving cancer doesn't depend on a mental state or fighting or not. It is an unequal fight and some are lucky and others are not.
It is mean and unfair that you belong to the unlucky ones. I have no words for that.
You are a winner, in every sense of the word.
I wish you to be painfree and to live as many days as you can possibly get.
I wish Clari and all your friends and family all the possible strength they need.
I will think of you, when I fight for a CURE for cancer. I survived, so far.......
From the Netherlands.......... With love....

Eric.. I thank you for your video journey through this hard time in your life...I know that GOD sent you your wife as an angel to be with you during this difficult time. We all have to face leaving here one day...This life is just temporary compared to the true reality of eternity...So, I wanted to tellyou that JESUS is real! and regardless of what the world believes about HIM, HE is. That's why there is so much controversy when HIS name is mentioned, because there is something to it. I beg you to please read ACTS 2:38....because it's the way to salvation and true life. ..I HOPE YOU BELIEVE THIS...because the same thing that Peter is saying in ACTS 2:38 happened to me, and not of my own power. I'm continuiing to pray for you and your family. Don't be afraid, it's just fear of the unknown, which JESUS already told us how it would be...if only we believe.

I've had many challenges in my life - and some continue still. I have been guilty of not always stopping to be grateful of what I DO have. That all stopped after watching your incredible last video. I will never be so selfish as to be ungrateful for the positive things in my life ever again. That is the gift that your video gave to me. And for that, I say "thank you."

Eric, I have viewed some of your videos as my BF has just been diagnosed with AML. I am staying with her on the weekends in the hospital. She has been there for 4 wks now and on her 2d round of 24 hour chemo. I was very touch, deeply touched, by your videos. I wish I could give you both some of my life to keep you going however so much longer. But you will go on in our hearts. I feel like I know you personally. My heart goes out to your family and wife. May God be with you now and forever.

Dear Eric, I was just looking around online and happened to find your last video. It touched me deeply. I'm 64 and am disabled with alot of medical problems. I have chronic pain and there's no hope of it ever ending. I can understand how it feels to put one foot in front of the other every day and keep going. I loved your ski diving video and am glad you go to experience that. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and friends. God is holding us, Eric, and will never let us go. Your smile lights up your face and shows a glimpse of the spirit inside you. Be at peace and trust that the Lord will never leave. Thank you for sharing yourself with me. I'll never forget. Love, Joan

Bless you Eric - I am so sorry for what you had to go through and the unfair and early end to your life. You're a beautiful man, my heart hurts for you and your family. I'll keep you in my prayers. You've taught me a valuable lesson today - how precious and fragile life is. God bless you Eric.

The first time I ever cried during college was while watching your farewell video.
There is no need to feel scared because, while we are here to support you on the ground, there are people up there to lift you up towards a place where no pain exists.
You will never be forgotten, especially by me.
You won, and you will always be more important than any gold medalist or record breaker because you defined living.

You will always be remembered as a strong gentle man who gave his family and friends love and hope and the courage to carry on. You did win the fight Eric. You are a great teacher. May your final journey be peaceful. "Let go and Let God".
Cari & Family
Thank you for sharing Eric with us. My heart is so heavy with sadness. Prayers and Blessings to you always.
